Star Wars Destiny

Went to HOGS, that was being hosted at good games.  Mike (the owner of good games) taught me how to play Star Wars Destiny.

It is a good game -- but you MUST have a starter set to play.  You cant play without characters, and characters are rare beasts!  I am glad I have it, but I dont think I will expand my collection.

Imperial Assault -- week 1

Started an Imperial Assault game with Lowell as the empire.

We won the introductory scenario -- which you are supposed to do.

We then just managed to win the first scenario -- though all but one character was badly wounded, and we only just managed to win on the last turn

Operation Cromwell and HOGS!!!

Went to Operation Cromwell VI, where I had a lot of fun, but was totally annihilated.  This was a Bolt Action tournament.  My list was infantry focused, with lots of small units.  I dished out lots of damage, but also died quickly!  I did win the 'Stalin Award', for producing the most casualties (on either side)

After Operation Cromwell I came home, but the family flaked out, so I drove down to HOGS.

Jim had a motorised platoon -- once my Bazooka's died I had a hard time!!  I ended up conceding this one!

Games Lab with Lowell

Met up with Lowell at the games lab.  Played in a game of 'The Resistance'.  But had to leave soon after as Alex was sick.

Went to Hogs, and played Tiny Epic Galaxies, Viking, and Powergrid India

Cameron's Place

Went to Cameron's place for dinner and games.  Played Spyfall after dinner -- immense fun!!!!  I was the spy twice -- but never caught!  Tristian was really really good at this.

Games Laboratory

Caught up with Lowell at the Games Laboratory!  Played X-Wing, and Lowell (of course) trashed me!!!!  Hopefully this is the start of several games with Lowell as I travel to Melbourne.

Scythe and more

Played Scythe at the club.  I was learning, and I had my win strategy planned out for next turn, when one of the players (called Panda for no obvious reason) made a come from behind and win the game move that he had obviously been planning for a long time!

The game was fun, and I can see why it is near the top of the BGG rankings.

Then tried Roll for the Galaxy.  But Greg had to read the rules as he explained it to us. 

It was all too hard, so we played Race for the Galaxy.  Martha trashed us!

DiCon Day 2

I played in the Twilight Imperium game.

To cut a long story short, two thumbs up!!!!

The start.  I was red (specialising in trading), inbetween Martha (specialising in technology) and David (specialising in politics.  I thought it would be a nice quiet corner of the world ...

I started exploring, and almost immediately my fleet hit a supernova and was destroyed :(

I was hemmed in by the supernova, asteroids, and a gravity rift.  I had to move tovards David.

David destroyed my new fleet.  While everyone else expanded, I was stuck :(.  But the game was so much fun!
