Only Andrew could make it for games -- everyone else was Eastering.
Started off with Blitzkrieg. What a great game! We played 4 games, and honours were evenly split.
We then moved on to Napoleon, which Andrew picked up distressingly quickly.

I was French this time. ALMOST won.
The allies concentrated in the center. As the French, I attacked on the left. As the allies moved to respond, I launched a lightening cav attack on the right to take Liege. The Prussians responded, and despite being outnumbered, won! This destroyed the French plans. So they attacked on the left, and managed to almost win. A moments inattention left a vulnerable force to be overwhelmed and the French army routed. But it was so, so close!
From Simon: Nick’s French maneuvered to both flanks to attack allied supply bases at Liege and Ghent. Liege was retaken in an against-the-odds assault by a Prussian cavalry force, which kept the Allies afloat. But then Ghent fell to the main French force after a long slogging battle, with the British Army quitting the continent! The battered French pushed for Brussels, which was wide open, but were foiled by the arrival of night, and the Prussians claimed a narrow win by overrunning a forgotten French outpost in the morning, which pushed them over the break point. Suspense from start to finish (well at least until my Army was annihilated… 😂)
Played Waterloo twice as a 3 player game. The French hadnt figured out how to win -- but they were getting close to mastering a strategy.
