C&C Ancients - Alex and Indians

Leon came over for a game of C&C Ancients.  We did Alexander at the Hypaspes - Alex vs Indians with all of the toys.

Sneaky FTF games

With one visitor allowed, Cass came over for a face to face game.

First real FTF game -- Dertosa

Ross came over, and we continued our Command and Colors campaign.  We did Dertosa and 2nd Beneventum

Ross (as Romans) crushed the Carthaginians at Dertosa.  But the Carthaginians got a narrow victory at 2nd Beneventum.

Isolation K2

Played K2, the mountain climbing game.  I got to the top of the mountain, but miscalculated my oxygen, and my climber died.  This is a game that requires careful though, memorisation of cards remaining (in a small deck), careful risk management, etc.  I.e., the more you play the better you become.

Isolation Hogs

HOGS membership has collapsed while meeting virtually -- about 8 people showed up for a virtual meet instead of the usual 30.

Played 6 Nimmt.  An interesting game, but not one I would seek out to play again.

Isolation Russian Railroads

I still dont grok this game.  Getting better at it, but havent figured out the synergies.

J had to quit early.  I came in the middle, but Rob was the standout winner.

Strategy & Tactics 050 - Battle for Germany

This game is over 40 years old, and I still think its great.  We found some rules holes -- such as who owns Berlin if both the Soviets and Western allies have it in their zone of control.  But it is such a simple but innovative system.  Ross and I declared a draw -- but it was a fantastic game to play!  (We played on Vassal, even though I have the paper version)
