Nemesis, in honor of Halloween. 5 players, and 3 of them new. So the game wa slow. But, amazingly enough, when we called it at 10:00 no one had been eaten!
A Command & Colors evening. WW1, Ancients, and Medieval.
I lost the medieval game when Jon rolled 4 casualties (4 x 1 in 6), followed by a leader kill -- another 1 in 6. The gods really hated me!
History of the World. One of my favourites -- possibly because I keep winning it. But It was actually very close!
Shogun.
We called it at 10:00. Cameron was barely alive, and the vultures were feeding on what was left of his territory. But neither Jon nor I were doing well. And Ross had an unassailable position, and was set to win the game!
5 Player Shogun. It was Jon's first time playing, and he made a deployment mistake, which crippled him. So we called the game a draw and will restart in subsequent weeks.
Ross came over and we played Arkham Horror. Then Ross went home for a break, before coming back for Tuesday Night Wargames.
Tuesday night we split into two -- Rass and Cameron played to a draw in ADLG, while Jon and Simon did great war.
After my heart attack, games too back seat. But I wanted to host games and see people. In the end, only Jon could make it. We played one game of Trails, and that was as much as I could take.
Axis and Allies. The Axis were on the brink of victory when we called time. Peter, as German, knocked Russia out and then went hogwild. An attempted invasion of Germany to respond failed narrowly, and after that it was all downhill for the allies.
Hamish joined us. Another gaming fly fisherman! We have a LOT of games in common!
Nemesis. I ran for the escape pods and abandoned ship. Ross was eaten, but everyone else died when the ship malfunctioned.
1775 -- the American Revolution. Jon and I, as the British, crushed the rebels in 3 turns. Which was pure skill and had nothing to do with some lucky card draws!
Then moved on to Cosmic Encounter.
3 Player Time of Crisis. Things were looking good for me, but on the last turn Cameron deposed my emperor and got enough points for a win. We had the rules down a lot better, and we are really enjoying this game.
We were joined by Jon! An old school (Airfix napoleonics) wargamer!
Time of Crisis -- which we screwed up terribly! But loved so much we will play again!
