A New Victim

We were joined by Jon!  An old school (Airfix napoleonics) wargamer!

Time of Crisis -- which we screwed up terribly!  But loved so much we will play again!

Wet Cities

Underwater Cities.  Ryan liked this game so much he said he was going to buy it!

Cass and Ryan were playing as a team.  They won -- but I say having two brains working on this puzzler is an unfair advantage :)

The Sky is Still Falling

More falling sky.  This was week 2, and it looks like we are 1/2 way through!

Cristine's Crew

Scythe with Christine and co.  Everyone thought I was about to win, but on the last turn Christine attacked me and took enough territory to grab the win!

Maria, yet again

The fourth game of Maria.  This has become a firm favorite of ours!

Simon's Comments:

Another fortnight, another ‘Maria lesson’ from Nick… 😂 We thought we’d handicap him by making him Austrian this time, but to no avail! He dominated the political phase again, grabbing Italy for his cause, turning Saxony neutral, and keeping pressure on Russia. Cameron’s Pragmatic Army ran riot through Northern France again, and Nick bided his time to pick up some easy points in their wake. And in a stunning victory, Nick’s surrounded Austrian main army fought off all three Prussian Armies, and the Saxons in a single turn! This allowed him to push into Schleswig and claim a number of VPs. My French had gobbled up parts of Western Austria, but their home front was in ruins. Another fun evening for everyone but the Prussians!

Penguins Cycling on the Railroad

Started off with Railroad Ink.  Which is a fun game.  Cass and Rob broke into the garage early and played a game before I could get out of work.  Cass then went to pick up pizza and we played a 2nd game.

The main course was Flamm Rouge.  A fun game, with a close, close finish.  Followed by Pyramid of the Pengqueen, which is so, so, so much fun (and so stupid)

Waterloo Again Again

I was French this time.  ALMOST won.

The allies concentrated in the center.  As the French, I attacked on the left.  As the allies moved to respond, I launched a lightening cav attack on the right to take Liege.  The Prussians responded, and despite being outnumbered, won!  This destroyed the French plans.  So they attacked on the left, and managed to almost win.  A moments inattention left a vulnerable force to be overwhelmed and the French army routed.  But it was so, so close!

From Simon: Nick’s French maneuvered to both flanks to attack allied supply bases at Liege and Ghent. Liege was retaken in an against-the-odds assault by a Prussian cavalry force, which kept the Allies afloat. But then Ghent fell to the main French force after a long slogging battle, with the British Army quitting the continent! The battered French pushed for Brussels, which was wide open, but were foiled by the arrival of night, and the Prussians claimed a narrow win by overrunning a forgotten French outpost in the morning, which pushed them over the break point.  Suspense from start to finish (well at least until my Army was annihilated… 😂)

Martha Uber Alles

We started off with Cascadia.  Martha plays this solo, so we werent surprised when she crushed everyone.

We moved on to Quacks of Quedlinburg.  Which was fantastic!  Somehow Martha crushed us all, by a large margin!

We finished up with Camel Cup.  And Martha yet again crushed us all!
